ABOUT ME
My academic career started with me studying Economics at Aarhus University but I quickly switched to Roskilde University where I got a BA in Public Administration before moving to Finland. In Finland, I earned an MSSc in Human Geography from the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). During my Master's studies, I discovered Border Studies which quickly have become my primary academic interest. My Master thesis "Encountering Invisible Border - Swedish-speaking Finns in Joensuu" won the EuroCORECODE Master's Degree Thesis Award which you can read more about HERE.

I am a member of the Association of Borderlands Studies, the Western Social Science Association, and Nordenskiöld-Samfundet. I am currently Managing editor for Fennia - International Journal of Geography and have earlier had different positions at UEF.
I was also a member of the board of the doctoral program in Past, Space and Environment in Society, UEF until it was stopped in 2024.

In addition to my work in academia, I have worked in the Danish Immigration Service, been an intern at the Danish Embassy in Rome (UN representation), and worked as a journalist and radio co-host, focusing on China, and a freelance English language coach to local businesses that want to brush off their English language skills.

You can find me on a number of social platforms like LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and Bluesky where I share my work and work-related news and observations.

Although I try, the information on this site (and the other media platforms) may not always be 100% up to date, so feel free to contact me with whatever question, suggestion, or idea you may have. I am always open to new opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.
